Chaunra | Clifton Urban Forest

These Kutcha houses called Chaunra are commonly found in Thar arid of Sindh province. These are cooler and earthquake-resistant as compared to normal homes built in cities.
This is not a village scene from Thar but this Chaunra has been built near the Sea View Beach for use as the Clifton Urban Forest office. It is rare to find such typical houses in the port city of Karachi. One more Chaunra is being built besides this structure.
